The receipt
The Coinage Act of 2 April 1792 defined the mill — one tenth of a cent, one thousandth of a dollar — listing it alongside dollars, dismes and cents, while omitting it from the coins the US Mint was authorised to strike. 234 years later it is still legally defined and has never existed.
